About Tanis & Skull Krazy...
In 2010 we moved from California to Arizona, and I immediately fell in love with all the rustic western décor that I was seeing everywhere I went, but the one piece that I was searching for, kept eluding me. You see, I was specifically looking for a steer skull that was tastefully done and I could not find one anywhere that suited my house, so I decided to take it upon myself to create one.
This project took me about 4-weeks to complete, and almost immediately after I finished it, my mother-in-law came over & saw it and had to have it, so I was once again without my steer skull.
I then created a completely different looking rustic steer skull and within two weeks of its completion, a friend of mine asked me if she could have it, and I obliged her, but not before another cowgirl friend of mine that owned a tack shop asked me if I could create six more in about six weeks to try and sell them out of her trailer at a barrel race. Well, I was able to spend about every waking moment working on these six pieces and low & behold I was ready to try and sell them for the first time, as the others I created we’re both given away. The barrel race lasted 3-days and I sold all six pieces before the end of the second day, so I went home and immediately started working on more, and Skull Krazy was born.
To date, I have created and sold well over 1,000 pieces online as well as at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, The Arabian Horse Show in Scottsdale and at smaller shows like the Prescott Rodeo and 4th of July Faire on the Square.
Please check back often, as I typically post the new pieces as soon as they’re finished.
